Outgoing queues |
This section allows you to select which outgoing queues will be used to send messages.
The selected outgoing queues will be defined per project.
Backup |
Save sent messages: Three options are available ; no, header only and yes.
When selecting Header Only or Yes, messages are saved in the Queues Sent
Folder. |
Save aborted messages: Three options are available ; no, header only and yes.
When selecting Header Only or Yes, messages are transferred to the
Queues Aborted Folder. Note that messages which addresses cannot be
resolved will also be transferred accordingly. |

Throttle |
The Throttle value determines the overall maximum quantity of messages sent per minute, regardless of the number of
outgoing queues and their respective thread count settings. For
instance, it can be useful to avoid overloading your SMTP server or your
network. |
Retries |
These different options set the interval between connections attempts to the receiving mail server. Note that these settings will only apply
when using the built in SMTP Server. When using external SMTP servers,
retries are determined by the SMTP server settings. |

Delivery Status Notification |
Delivery Status Notifications are messages sent to the sender and generated by the recipients' SMTP client. They inform you about the status of your message.
These options define parameters which allow a SMTP client to specify that delivery status notifications (DSNs) should be generated under certain conditions.
Never: check this box if you do not want SMTP clients to send any delivery notifications. |
Success: check this box if you want to receive delivery success
notifications (sent when your message is successfuly delivered). |
Failure: check this box if you want to receive delivery failure
notifications (sent when the delivery has failed). |
Delay: check this box if you want to receive delivery delay
notifications (sent when the delivery has been delayed). |
Header Only: Select this option if you do not wish the entire message to be returned (recommended). |
Create local delivery notifications: check this box if you want to receive
notifications when a message sending is aborted by the application. It also allows you to receive notifications when using the built-in SMTP
server to send messages.
Note that according to our testings, about 60% of SMTP clients support this extension (July, 2005). Other SMTP clients will either do not send DSN or send DSN without taking into account your settings. However, managing DSNs remains an important point in emailing projects. If you want more details on how to manage DSNs/Bounces with the application, visit the Knowledge Base. |
